What we check

What the report covers, and what it doesn’t.

We check

  • The legal entity: its registry number and registered address
  • Owners and the chain of ownership
  • Related companies, as deep as the scope says
  • Where sources contradict each other
  • Pages that were deleted, from web archives
  • Sanctions lists and court records, where open sources cover them
  • Open sources today; we keep connecting paid databases
  • A source and a date on every line

We don’t

  • Audit the accounts or give a legal opinion
  • Decide anyone’s guilt: the report says what the sources say
A legal entity is not the same as whoever writes on its behalf.

We can confirm that a company exists and who owns it. That does not prove an email, an invoice or an offer came from it: a scammer can pose as a real firm. The report says what we checked, such as the website, the domain and the contacts, and what we did not.

How it works

The scope comes first.

  1. Name the companyIts country, its website if it has one, and what you need to know.
  2. We confirm the scopeWhich legal entity, your questions, how deep into related companies, which sources and what is left out. The clock starts here.
  3. Agents search, a person reviewsAgents work through registries, filings and archives. A person reads the report before it goes out.
  4. You get the reportIn the app with its map, as a PDF, and as a package anyone can check with the open verifier.

When the check is clean

Nothing found is a result.

If we run the check and find no hidden owners, no contradictions and nothing deleted, the report says so and lists every source we searched. That is an answer you can show.

If a check can’t be done, for example where a country’s registry is not open, we say so before the work starts. What happens to the payment then: to confirm

Before you sign

Know who is behind the company before you sign.

For investors, funds and deal advisers.

  • The owners behind the owners, and who they are tied to
  • Numbers that differ between the deck and the filings, both sources side by side
  • Archived versions of pages that were deleted
  • A source and a date on every line, for your committee
Before a prepayment

Before you pay a new supplier.

For importers, buyers and agencies about to pay a company they have never met.

  • Does the company exist, and who owns it
  • Asked to pay a different company? See whether it is tied to the first one
  • A smart website with no history: domain age, registration and address
  • Who else is registered at the same address

How the record works
Questions

Before you order.

Who reads the report before I get it?

A person at Symphoria, every time. Agents gather and cross-check; a person decides what goes in.

Does the company know I am checking it?

We work from open sources and do not contact it. Your investigation is private. Nothing goes to Bitcoin unless you share or publish the report, and then only its fingerprint, not its content.

Can you check a person?

We check companies. Directors and owners appear as far as the company check needs them. A check of a person on their own: to confirm

What if I think a line is wrong?

Tell us. The correction goes into the ledger beside the original line, and you get a new version of the report. Terms: to confirm

Is the report evidence for court?

We don’t claim that. The report gives a source for every line, and anyone can check that it has not changed since it was signed. Whether a court accepts it is a question for your lawyer.

Name the company. We confirm the scope first.
